Control Operator is an entry-level non-certified detention staff position whose primary responsibility is to assist the safety, security, and movement of staff and incarcerated public offenders in the Blaine County Detention Center.
Control Operators require a high level of multi-tasking ability to operate technical systems for the security of the facility including, but not limited to:

Control Operators have a critical role in officer safety, inmate safety, and facility security.
Control Operators provide visual, radio and camera monitoring of all movements and activities within the Detention Center from their vantage inside Central Control booth. They are responsible for the operation of all secure doors entering and exiting our facility. If you are interested in law enforcement and possess a high level of detail, this is a great way to get started in law enforcement.

Control Operator Qualifications
Meet all Minimum Hiring Standards
Be a U.S. Citizen and at least 19 years of age
Possess a valid Idaho Drivers License
Have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
Pass a Computer Skills Test with a minimum typing speed of 20 words per minute
